Dr. BeansDr. Beans came to St. Matthews in 2021. She has her Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral degrees in science and education. She taught middle school science and high school chemistry in Pennsylvania for 18 years. After moving to Seattle in 2013, she created a college program where she taught industry experts to teach, create curriculum, and manage their classrooms. Dr. Beans moved to the LA area to join the St. Matthews family. She is really excited to return to the middle school classroom where she loves to show how everything is connected to science.

Mr. CarabajalMr. Carabajal joined the St. Matthew's community for the 2021-2022 school year. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of California, Davis, and a Master of Science degree in Geology from the University of Cincinnati. Mr. Carabajal is currently completing his doctorate remotely, where he studies ways of incorporating accessible teaching practices in field-based learning and promoting inclusive learning communities in earth science departments. Mr. Carabajal’s interests outside of research include hiking, camping, cooking, and rock collecting. Mr. Carabajal cannot wait to share his enthusiasm for science with the St. Matthew's community.

Ms. FriedmanAs a graduate from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, Dori Friedman collaborates with students and teachers, across every subject, to seamlessly integrate skills that leverage a maker mindset into unique, hands-on, and project-based lessons. As an innovator, she never runs out of ideas to inspire the people with whom she works. Dori is a dedicated and passionate educator.
